Record-Breaking Job Fair Attendance
This past year saw the Healthcare Job Fair smash all previous records for jobseeker registrations across its nine events in 2022.
More than 5,000 jobseekers representing occupations across the width and breadth of health and social care services, including over 1,300 nurses, stormed back into live, in-person events in Dublin, London, Manchester, Toronto and more as COVID-19 restrictions receded globally.
Nearly 200 health sector employers from around the world exhibited at this year’s job fairs, among them Ramsay Health Care Australia, Cleveland Clinic, HCA Healthcare, UPMC, RCSI Hospital Group, Ireland’s Health Service Executive and Britain’s Bupa, LloydsPharmacy, Royal Air Force, and the NHS. Other exhibitors included the North York General Hospital and the Government of New Brunswick from Canada, while Australia was represented by The Royal Melbourne Hospital and Western Australia Department of Health, among many others. American Hospital Dubai was also hiring. Some employers boasted of having hired up to seven candidates within a single hour of interviews and discussions.
Registrations for the Autumn season of job fairs in Dublin and London continued to topple records, with attendees at Dublin’s October event climbing 65% on the March job fair’s numbers, and London’s figures increasing 44% over the same period.
Streamlined Application Process
The job application process was facilitated and streamlined by Healthdaq®, the proprietary candidate data capture and applicant management platform provided to all employers at the job fairs. This helped employers to scan and capture 18,225 candidate details across all nine events – an average of 65 recruitment leads per employer.
A significant number of 2022’s exhibitors have eagerly rebooked ahead of the 2023 event slate.
Andrea Lester, Recruitment and Retention Lead at The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, remarked that exhibiting at the Healthcare Job Fair proved to be a streamlined and stress-free experience.
“The team fully supported me in organising everything I needed for the day and were attentive to our needs on the day itself. I will definitely be exhibiting at the event again in 2023.”
Speaking on behalf of Bupa, Hannah Ebiefa, a Healthcare Resourcer with the company, echoed Andrea Lester’s experience of the Job Fairs’ hands-on, helpful relationship with its exhibitors. She further praised the positive and friendly atmosphere of the events, calling them “a buzzing hub to chat with potential candidates…where everyone was lovely and welcoming”.
