Anyone wishing to work as a nurse in the UK must register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. How you register as a nurse depends on whether you have trained within the EU/EEA, or outside of it.
If you have trained in the EU/EEA, the Nursing and Midwifery Council will compare your training with that required in the UK. You may be required to complete the two part application process, which includes a computer based multiple choice examination and a practical objective structured clinical examination (OSCE).
If you have not trained in the EU/EEA, you must complete the two part application process mentioned above. In addition, all nurses trained outside the EU/EEA must provide evidence of English language proficiency by completing the IELTS English Language Test and receiving an average score of 7.
For more information on registering as a nurse in the UK, see the NHS website and the Nursing and Midwifery Council website.
