St. Francis Hospice provides a specialist palliative care service for the people of north Dublin city and county and surrounding counties. We are a voluntary organisation under the care of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul. Some of the services we provide are:

Our team is made up of doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, complementary therapists, lymphoedema therapists, pharmacists, care assistants, household staff, administration staff, volunteers and contract staff.
We supported nearly 1,800 patients and their families in 2020 and provided specialist palliative care to more than 1,400 people in their homes. In addition, 522 patients were admitted to our Inpatient Units in Raheny and Blanchardstown for symptom management and end of life care.

St. Columcille’s Hospital, Loughlinstown is a public hospital located in Loughlinstown, County Dublin, Ireland. It is managed by the Irish Government’s Health Service Executive and provides acute-care hospital services, including a 24-hour emergency department, for the population of South Dublin and County Wicklow.
St. Michael’s Hospital is an acute general hospital providing a range of specialised clinical services to the people of South Dublin and Wicklow.
We offer facilities for pathological and radiological services, provide care for both medical and surgical patients, as well as outpatient clinics and services including cardiac rehabilitation, diabetes treatment, heart failure treatment, pulmonary rehabilitation.

Our specialised Heart Failure programme seeks to improve quality of life for patients with heart failure in the East Coast Area, through provision of expert multidisciplinary advice, education and support. The team includes consultant cardiologists, clinical nurse specialists, psychotherapist, physiotherapist, dieticians. We are also the regional training centre for Pulmonary Rehabilitation Care.
The Department of Nursing is dedicated to the provision of high-quality patient-focused care and a nursing degree programme in association with the University College Dublin (UCD) is now being delivered preceded by Diploma (RCSI) and Certificate courses for student nurses.
Cappagh National Orthopedic Hospital has 159 beds and is the major centre for elective orthopedic surgery in Ireland. The Hospital is a tertiary referral centre for the treatment of complex orthopedic problems including joint replacement surgery, revision joint surgery, foot and upper limb surgery, primary bone tumors, spinal surgery, sports injuries and pediatric orthopedic surgery. In addition, the Active Rehabilitation Unit is a 52 bed unit providing a multidisciplinary service to persons over the age of 65 years whose acute care is completed but for whom discharge to their destination is delayed.
The National Maternity Hospital is the largest maternity hospital in Europe and tertiary centre for Ireland. The hospital has approximately 8,500 deliveries per year with a bed complement of 200. The busy gynaecological unit is a national referral centre for gynaecological cancer. The neonatal unit is also a national referral centre and participates in the national neonatal transport programme. The laboratory provides a comprehensive service contributing to the care of perinatal, neonatal, antenatal and gynaecology patients. The Community Midwifery Service offers women the options of Domino, Early Transfer Home and Home Births. All activities are managed within a strong clinical governance framework and employees are centrally involved in quality improvement initiatives around the hospital.
The Hospital is a university teaching hospital with affiliations to University College Dublin (UCD) and the Royal College of Surgeons (RCSI) in Ireland. There is an active under–graduate teaching programme in the hospital with students from both colleges in attendance. The four year pre–registration degree for midwifery and eighteen month post registration Higher Diploma in midwifery is run in partnership with UCD. A fifteen month Higher Diploma in Neonatal Nursing organised jointly with the Faculty of Nursing, RCSI is based in our tertiary referral Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
